Area Activities
No matter what the season, the Catskills offer a plethora of activities for everyone!

Antiquing/Shopping - The villages along Route 28 each have their own personality with unique shops and stores. From Woodstock, Phoenicia, Pine Hill, Fleischmanns, Margaretville and Andes, take your time to explore each hamlet and town.
 All Terrain Vehicles - Ever want to try 4-wheeling through the miles of trails in the Catskill Forest? Here's a fun and exciting activity for the adventuresome to enjoy. Only 20 minutes away, Catskills ATVs offers 4-wheelers for rent. Available April through October.
Belleayre Mountain - No matter what the season, Belleayre (only 5 minutes away) offers a variety of activities for all ages. In the summer, take the ski lift to the top of the mountain and enjoy the views. Hike the trails. Visit the Interactive Nature Center. Swim and boat at Belleayre Lake. Enjoy a concert at the Belleayre Music Festival. In the winter, downhill or cross country ski, snowboard the highest skiable peak and longest skiable trail in the Catskills.
 Boating - Kayak or canoe the headwaters of the Delaware River, located just a few miles from the inn. Boat rentals available at Old Town Canoes and Kayaks (15 minutes away: 607-326-4266). Pedal boats, row boats & canoes are also available at Belleayre Lake, just 5 minutes away.

Dining - There are over over 20 restaurants within a 20 minute drive of the inn to meet every taste and budget. From basic burgers to unique creations, our local chefs are sure to please. Some of our favorites are the The Peekamoose (10 minutes away), the Binnekill (10 minutes away - closes at 8pm), and the Andes Hotel Restaurant (20 minutes away). A few of our area restaurants are dog friendly on their beautiful porches and patios.
Entertainment - Summer brings the Belleayre Music Festival (5 minutes away) to our neighborhood. Special events abound on summer weekends.
Farmers and Flea Markets - Most operate on weekends from Memorial Day to Columbus Day and offer local produce, maple syrup, home baked goods, handmade crafts and more. Pakatakan Farmers Market in the Round Red Barn (10 minutes away), and the Magic Mile Flea Market (5 minutes away). (D)
Farms - Just 5 minutes away is Alpacas of Dun-Dor Woods, an alpaca farm offering tours, wool, and alpacas for sale. For a scenic drive, travel north on Route 30 into Schoharie County and visit the many pick-your-own farms and stands along the way.
Fishing - Our bountiful streams team with trout. The nearby Esopus, East Branch Delaware, and Bushkill (in our own backyard) have many public access points for fly fishing. A licence can be purchased for $15 from a local bait shop. Bring your own equiptment.
Galleries - The area is home to many unique artists and galleries. In a converted barn in the hamlet of Halcottsville is the working studio and gallery of Mark Pilato and Alyssum Pilato. Another nearby gallery in the village of Andes which features local artists is the Chace-Randall Gallery.
Golf - Nearby courses include Meadows Golf Center (5 minutes away: 845-586-4104), Hanah Country Club (10 minutes away), and Shepard Hills (20 minutes away).
 Hiking - We are located at the edge of the Catskill Forest Preserve. Fantastic hiking for all skill levels is just minutes away. We have several books and brochures which detail trails in the area. Horseback Riding - Stone Tavern Farms, just 25 minutes away, offers amazing trail rides. Also nearby in Phoenicia (15 minutes away) is Saddle Up Ranch (845-688-7336).
Labyrinth - Take a centering, meditative stroll through our seven-circuit stone labyrinth, located at the foot of our yard near the stream.
Mountain Biking - Only 25 minutes away is Plattekill Mountain. Featuring over 60 miles of lift served mountain bike trails, Plattekill offers steep chutes and big drops for the expert, as well as learn to bike packages for the beginner.

Relaxing - That's what vacation is all about! Wander down to the edge of our property to the Bushkill Trout Stream and nap in our hammock. Take a meditative walk through our labyrinth. Borrow a book from our library. Relax in an Adirondack chair on the front porch and watch the village pass by.
Scenic Drives - Our by-ways and back roads offer unsurpassed views and vistas. Drive over the largest NYC Reservoir, through the covered bridges of Delaware County, or take a historic barn tour. (D)
Skiing/Winter Sports - Winter sports is abound in the Catskills. Downhill and cross country skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing are all just minutes away: Belleayre Mountain (5 minutes away), Ski Plattekill (25 minutes away), and Frost Valley (25 minutes away). We offer discount lift tickets to Belleayre Mountain.
Spas - Looking to treat yourself to a massage or spa treatment? Look no further than Bodyworx (5 minutes away - 845-586-3101), Hot Stone Massage (5 minutes away - 845-586-1166), the Emerson Spa or the Copperhood Spa (both 15 minutes away). Reservations recommended.
 Swimming - Right in the Village of Fleischmanns we have a heated outdoor pool which is open in July and August. Our nearby lake, Belleayre Beach is just 5 minutes away and is open starting Memorial Day. Other local swimming spots are Big Pond (35 minutes away - (D) and Red Falls (40 minutes away - (D), both well worth the drive.
Tennis - Newly resurfaced free public courts are just 2 blocks away.
Train Rides - Enjoy an open car rail ride on the Delaware & Ulster Railroad (5 minutes away), a scenic train that winds through the valley and villages of the Catskills. (D)
Tubing - Rent an inner tube from Town Tinker (15 minutes away) and ride the rapids and drift with the current as the Esopus Creek winds through the beautiful Catskill Mountains.
