our comfortable, family friendly bed and breakfast is a short drive
away from a myriad of activities in the central Catskills.
ANTIQUING/SHOPPING
The villages along Route 28 each have their own personality with unique shops and stores. From Woodstock, Phoenicia, Pine Hill, Fleischmanns, Margaretville and Andes, take your time to explore each hamlet and town.
BOATING
Kayak or canoe the headwaters of the Delaware River, located just a few miles from the inn. Boat rentals available at Old Town Canoes and Kayaks (15 minutes away: 607-326-4266). Pedal boats, row boats & canoes are also available at Belleayre Lake, just 5 minutes away.
DINING
There are over over 20 restaurants within a 20 minute drive of the inn to meet every taste and budget. Some of our favorites are The Peekamoose (8 minutes away), and the Binnekill Tavern. For something more casual you can try Oakley's Wood Fired Pizza (5 minutes away), Goatie Whites (half mile away), or you could walk down the street to La Cabana Mexican Restaurant.
FARMERS AND FLEA MARKETS
Most operate on weekends from Memorial Day to Columbus Day and offer local produce, maple syrup, home baked goods, handmade crafts and more. Pakatakan Farmers Market (10 minutes away), and the Magic Mile Flea Market (5 minutes away).
GOLF
Nearby courses include Meadows Golf Center (5 minutes away...and they have mini golf!), Hanah Country Resort (10 minutes away), and Shepard Hills (20 minutes away).
HIKING
Hiking trails in the Catskills for every skill level are just a short drive away. Views...waterfalls...ruins...we've got it all. We're happy to help you find the perfect trail. More information can be found at the NY/NJ Trail Conference and The Catskill Mountaineer .
MOUNTAIN BIKING
Plattekill Mountain, only 15 minutes away, offers packages including bike, helmet, a lift to the top of the mountain, and a personal guide. It's a great way to bike the trails! Wyndham Mountain, about 40 minutes away, also has packages and trails from beginner to expert.
RAIL EXPLORERS
Want to explore the Catskills in a totally unique way? Then check out the Rail Explorers! These pedal powered carts glide along old railroad lines that hug the Esopus Creek, giving you an amazing way experience the area. Reservations required. All ages welcome. Check them out: Rail Explorers.
SKIING & WINTER SPORTS
We are located just 2 miles from Belleayre Ski Center (downhill and cross country). Need rentals? Check out Jimmy's Belleayre Ski Shop, located at the base of Belleayre Mountain. Ski Plattekill, just 15 minutes away, is a fantastic family owned mountain that offers downhill & cross country skiing, as well as snowtubing. Hunter and Windham are both about 45 minutes away, and have skiing and tubing.
SPAS
Treat yourself to a massage or spa treatment at The Emerson (20 minutes away), or the amazing Glo Spa in Woodstock (40 minutes away).
SWIMMING
Our nearby lake, Belleayre Beach is a 5 minute drive away and is open Memorial Day to Labor Day. Another local swimming spot is Big Pond (35 minutes away), and well worth the drive. There's a wonderful indoor heated pool and gym at the Catskill Recreation Center (5 minutes away). Our favorite though are the hidden swimming holes and waterfalls that you can't find in the guide books...we'll tell you all about them when you arrive!
TENNIS
Newly resurfaced free public courts are just 2 blocks away from the inn.
TRAIN RIDES
Enjoy an open car rail ride on the Delaware & Ulster Railroad (5 minutes away), a 2 hour scenic train that winds through the valley and villages of the Catskills.
